Xcode 5.1 – Update to Instruments command line

The instruments command-line tool now supports specifying the simulator SDK and device type using the -w flag. To see a list of the supported simulator configurations as well as attached devices, execute instruments -s devices in a Terminal window. (14996865)

$instruments -s devices
Known Devices:
iPAD (v7.0.6)
iPhone5S (v7.0.2)
iPhone - Simulator - iOS 7.1
iPhone Retina (3.5-inch) - Simulator - iOS 7.1
iPhone Retina (4-inch) - Simulator - iOS 7.1
iPhone Retina (4-inch 64-bit) - Simulator - iOS 7.1
iPad - Simulator - iOS 7.1
iPad Retina - Simulator - iOS 7.1
iPad Retina (64-bit) - Simulator - iOS 7.1

To run tests on iPhone :

$instruments\
-w "iPhone Retina (4-inch 64-bit) - Simulator - iOS 7.1" \
-t $TRACETEMPLATE AppLocation \
-e UIASCRIPT Script.js \
-e UIARESULTSPATH reportPath

To run tests on iPAD :

instruments\
-w "iPad Retina - Simulator - iOS 7.1" \
-t $TRACETEMPLATE AppLocation \
-e UIASCRIPT Script.js \
-e UIARESULTSPATH reportPath
